A Cost-benefit Analysis of Net Zero

Andrew Montford presents a new estimate of the cost of delivering Net Zero in the UK. Previous estimates have been flawed:

  • failing to properly consider the effects of weather on supply and demand

  • using hugely overoptimistic values for the costs of renewables.

The study finds that the cost of Net Zero is likely to run to trillions, and in all cases, the costs far exceed the benefits, namely global warming averted.
